The role of ivermectin in preventive chemotherapy programs for the control of soil-transmitted helminths
This project was embedded in a larger cluster RCT – led by collaborators from MCRI – that aimed to assess the impact of ivermectin MDA on scabies in the Solomon Islands (the Regimens of Ivermectin for Scabies Elimination (RISE) trial). We added an STH component to assess the impact of ivermectin on STH infections. The field team visited 20 villages in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands, where they collected stool samples from residents to diagnose STH infections.
