Elke Mitchell is a Senior Research Fellow within the Global Health Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney. She is an experienced qualitative social researcher with expertise in qualitative, ethnographic and participatory research methods. Elke's work focuses on the social and behavioural aspects of sexual, reproductive and maternal health, and neglected tropical diseases in the Pacific region. In 2019, Elke led a qualitative study examining community perspectives of scabies and acceptability of mass drug administration (MDA) as part of a larger community intervention trial designed to assess the impact of ivermectin MDA on the control of scabies in Fiji.
