Dr Simone Reynolds is a molecular parasitologist and her collaborations in ACE-NTD projects are related to reducing the burden of human scabies and associated secondary Streptococcus pyogenes (Strep A) infections which cause rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. Her current research is focused on the mechanisms of Strep A disease pathogenesis, preclinical evaluation of vaccine targets Strep A to prevent skin and mucosal streptococcal infections and clinical trials.
